Peace and love my beloved brother:

I acknowledge receipt your confidential note dated on January 27, and being penetrated by its content after having meditated upon it with all serenity and attention I regret to manifest to you that it is not possible to fulfil the wishes of our beloved brother for the following reasons.

My family is made up of seven people who no other support for their necessities than mine. I have a small carpentry shop, of which I am the soul, I mean to say that I am missing it would have to be closed and all the elements that constitute stored, and in addition would have to withdraw a portion of the boys to whom I provide apprenticeship in my occupation. This will not be exaggerated to you if you take into consideration the difficult situation everywhere and for this reason the great competition that exists in everything, things which in spite of my knowledge, long experience and vast relations I face with difficulty.

Moreover, a member of the family has been ill for a few months and may still go on for an indefinite period. All of this, as you will see is purely material, but the thing that preoccupies and holds me back the most is the good workings of the Cátedra that is under my direction and care for if I am absent there might be a great cooling among my brothers because the great majority (with the exception of brother Ventura, the only one who helps me in everything and with everything) still need someone to be injecting them with great doses of enthusiasm so that they don't let themselves be dragged by the distracters.

I hope that you will know to weigh these reasons and will consequently answer to our brother.

In addition, I beg you to send me his address so that I may directly write to him so that he will not see in my reasons a cowardly avoidance and think that I am denying my collaboration with him now that he asks.

Receive my fraternal embrace and always we advance

EVER FURTHER BEYOND
